Critical Deadline
I inherited a complex integration already in progress, uncovered critical risks, helped leadership navigate those risks, and contributed to achieving the year-end transition without operational disruption.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Project Overview
Tasked with helping coordinate the integration of three operating companies into a unified enterprise structure, I stepped into an initiative already underway with limited centralized oversight, fragmented workflows, and a rapidly approaching year-end deadline.
My priority was to establish visibility, strengthen cross-functional coordination, identify critical dependencies, and introduce the structure necessary to support a successful employee and operational transition.
The Business Challenge
Multiple functional teams were managing interdependent integration activities without a sufficiently coordinated framework. With a fixed December 31 transition deadline, the organization faced heightened risks involving ownership, communication, execution, and operational readiness.
The challenge: Transform disconnected activities into a coordinated, accountable integration program without disrupting business continuity.
My Strategic Approach
I approached the integration by first understanding the current state, building relationships with functional leaders, and identifying gaps in execution. From there, I established a more structured approach to planning, communication, risk management, and stakeholder alignment.
Explore My Project Management Approach Discovery & Assessment Evaluated existing integration activities, clarified functional responsibilities, identified outstanding deliverables, and assessed dependencies across the operating companies. Planning & Governance Established structured workstreams, clarified ownership, organized milestones, and introduced consistent mechanisms for tracking progress, risks, and decisions. Stakeholder Engagement Built relationships across departments and organizational levels to strengthen collaboration, resolve ambiguity, and align teams around shared objectives. Risk & Issue Management Identified critical execution risks, surfaced cross-functional dependencies, and facilitated timely escalation and corrective action. Transition Readiness Coordinated functional readiness assessments and supported alignment around critical activities required for the year-end transition.

Risk Intelligence
Anticipating dependencies and execution challenge
Strategic Execution
Translating ambiguity into actionable plans
Stakeholder Influence
Building relationships that drive results
THE LEADERSHIP DIFFERENCE
Knowing When to Lead, When to Step Back, and When to Intervene.
Effective project control isn't about constant intervention. It's about knowing where leadership attention creates the greatest value.
Build Structure
When uncertainty and fragmented information create risk
Enable Autonomy
When teams need space to focus on execution
Maintain Visibility
Throughout execution, intervening when decisions or risks require attention
Knowing when process protects the project---and when it begins competing with execution---is a hallmark of senior project management.
